One of the most recognizable designs is the traditional "Lone Star" design. A single eight point star is skillfully created by piecing a mosaic diamond shaped pieces radiating from the center of the quilt. A border of  tumbling blocks form a frame around the star. A  large scalloped edge finishes the border.
